Getting creative in a harsh economy.
Hello Friends,
As many of you know I had to close my studio this last year and come on back home. It was a hard time but you can't keep feeding something that isn't giving you any returns. It is unfortunate that the beautiful things in life seem to be the first to go when we tighten up our belts in a tough ecomomy. That said the art has to find a different life and a creative person needs to find another way to keep her ship afloat, so to speak.
I always feel that money can be created best from things you do naturally and like to do. Mine is bargan hunting and loving fashion. Even if we can't afford luxury items right now we still will have a need to look good at the jobs we are desperatly hanging on to. Department store pricing has skyrocketed with the rest of the economy so help me and yourself trade up instead of feeding those uncaring corprate monsters.
Gently used is the way to go. Most of us Americans have to admit we probably wear things about 3 times and then get bored with them. I know I always like to wear something new and fun with each season. I always feel guilt free because each item I have saved from the consumer waste pile to have a new life in my closet.
Friends I sayshop with me, it supports my artmaking, saves the planet, and lets face it, it is just plain fun?
